At the event in New York, Korean Giant Samsung launched two flagship smartphones Samsung galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ , which will be available in the selected market by the end of this month(August). According the official reports, the Galaxy note 5 can be assumed perfect blend of earlier launched Galaxy S6 and last year released Note 4. Both smartphones give premium look in hand and having perfect size and shape.
The Note 5 is the 5th edition from the most successful flagship series Note and might grab the top position very soon in the market.
Both handsets Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ are available for pre-orders in the US and will be made available from 21 August. The Galaxy Note 5 will be sold via AT&T (without contract) at $739.99(Approx. Rs. 48, 000) for 32 GB storage variant and $839.99(Rs. 54,000) for the 64 GB variant, whereas the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be sold at $814.99 (Approx. Rs. 53,000) and $914.99 (Approx. Rs. 59,800) for 32 and 64 GB devices respectively. Samsung spokesperson said the Galaxy S6 will be made available globally while Note 5 will get entry in selected markets.
Both Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus come with same Octa-core Exynos processor (64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC with four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz) as Galaxy S6, but this time is powered by 4 GB RAM. You can buy both devices in 32 and 64 GB storage variants, but if you are looking for larger variant then you will be disappointed here, although there is no SD card slot for expanding the memory in any handset. Both series devices are powered by 3,000 mAh battery which is smaller than last year’s edition Note 4, but support both wireless charging and quick charging.
Here, we can say the design, processor and camera all are taken from recently invented Galaxy S6.
Both Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ sport 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display and same Quad HD resolution equivalent to S6. The display size remains same as the Note 3 and Note 4; though we can say Samsung has finalized 5.7 inch display size for all Phablets. The devices are slightly thinner, shorter and narrower than their last editions. Both phones are very handy and you can pick them up strongly as well navigate easily in one hand. Overall, the Note 5 is bigger phone without any doubt, but gives better feel in palm.
Both Phablets are packed with same 16 Megapixel rear camera with OIS as on the Galaxy S6. Both phones have 5 Megapixel front cameras which are capable to capture superior pictures.
At the event, Samsung also unveiled BB-like keyboard covers for both Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ devices. Both phones include Samsung Knox Active Protection and the MyKnox App.
Both Samsung Smartphones run on latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The devices come with all the advanced connectivity options including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G, Micro USB etc.
