Oppo Find 7 : The World’s First Smartphone That can Take 50 MP Photos

The hot teaser and some leaked news have created excitement to know more about Oppo. The Chinese company Oppo unveiled the Smartphone ‘Find 7’ in Beijing just now. According to the company, the Android 4.3 device can capture 50 Megapixel photos; even It doesn’t have 50 MP camera. In actual, the sensor is 13 MP Sony IMX214 CMOS, but It is a technical trick to capture a high quality snaps. We saw surprising result while checked the quality and described here how it’s done.

The Find 7 device is using Oppo’s latest image signal processor called Pure Image 2.0, and enables the 50 MP “Super Zoom” creations : the camera shoots 10 constant pictures quickly, and then automatically selects four best pictures to merge 50 Megapixel still.

The world’s first Smartphone comes with 5.5 QHD touch screen display with 1440×2560 pixels resolution and boasts 538ppi pixel density. The Find 7 device is powered by a 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor and same processor will exist in upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 phone.

Oppo ‘Find 7’ runs on customized Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, which the company dubs Color OS 1.2. The handset comes with 3GB RAM which lets user quick speed for multimedia activity. The company has packed this phablet with 32 GB on board storage, which is expandable up to 128 GB.

The Find 7 is equipped with 13 Megapixels Sony Exmor IMX214 sensor primary camera with LED flash, which delivers exceptional quality like 50 Megapixel camera. The Oppo device has 5 Megapixel front facing camera too with BSi sensor. The device is capable to record 4K videos at 30fps, slow motion video at up to 100 fps, HDR capable GIF creation and RAW mode. Some features will work with its secondary camera too.

The company has especially taken care of battery backup, so formed 3000mAh capacity battery with this device. The company has commented about battery that It can charge up to 75% in 30 minutes only, which is based rapid charge technology. The manufacturer also claims that the Find 7 contains five layers of thermal protection against overheating during charging. Indeed, during the charging process heating is not very high. However, the phone heats up under heavy load, and it is very unpleasant to handle (the hottest place – behind the camera). Battery temperature sensor shows modest rates, though it shook their best in these five layers of thermal protection. In particular, NOVA 3 heated for half an hour reached 39 degrees, and in Stability Test was only 41.4 degrees. But hands are not fooled!

The Oppo Find 7 is packed with all advanced connectivity options such as Wi-Fi. Bluetooth, GPS, AGPS, USB OTG, 3G and 4G LTE.

The Oppo “Find 7” will come in two versions; Find 7 Lite and Find 7. The Find 7 Lite packs a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 2800mAh battery and a 1080p display, which is priced at $499. The second version is known as ‘Find 7’ packs 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 32 GB Internal storage, 3000mAh battery, which will be sold at $599. Both handsets will be available from May or June but the company has not confirmed any date.
