Micromax Launches Canvas 4 and Sets a Benchmark for Leaders

Micromax has unveiled a rival for others and highly awaited canvas 4 in the market. A series of Canvas has collected good response from the users and now Canvas 4(having 11,500 pre-bookings) is launched with unique features such as automatic video pause, video pinning etc.

It appears as an upgraded model of Canvas HD and its functions are slightly same as Samsung Galaxy S4 but the price is very low in comparison to Galaxy S4. Micromax has priced Canvas 4 at Rs 17,999 and Canvas 4 is also its most expensive Smartphone till now.

Why it has more than 10000 pre-bookings .

Micromax canvas 4 has a giant 5 inch HD (Corning Gorilla Glass Protection) touchscreen with 720X1280 pixels resolution at 294 pixel density. It comes with a 13 Megapixel rear and a 5 megapixel front facing camera which produces a good quality while using video calling feature.

Its unique functions allow user to watch multiple video at the same time. Its screen is very sensitive which check either a user is looking at the phone or looking away , if a user looks away then it automatically pause the video which makes it unique from others.

This time Micromax will also provide an M! security features to the users which offers anti-theft tracker, anti-virus and back-up.

Micromax Canvas 4 has 1 GB LPDDR2 RAM and 16 GB internal storage which provides a good storage strenght. A micro SD card slot is available to expand storage up to 32 GB. It is powered by a 2000 mAh lithium ion battery.

It is powered by a 1.2GHZ quad- core cortex-7 processor along with 1 GB RAM so It will produce better processing than Canvas HD. It runs on Android 4.2.1 jelly bean OS and supports 2G,3G and WI-fi networks .

The Smart device is packed with a few gesture functions like flip to mute a call. When your phone rings, you can flip it to make silent the phone ring. The user can make calls by holding the mobile to ear like Samsung Galaxy S3. The company added the ‘blow-to-unlock’ feature also. The users can unlock their canvas 4 handsets by blowing air on the display.

For providing security, Micromax has given more protective cover with the phone that is absolutely free. The cover’s display is transparent and touch-enabled and offers you more protection against scratches. The cover is attached with back panel so you need to remove plastic back panel first and then mount the cover. The users can enjoy the touch facility with Gloves on.

The above features are very similar to Samsung galaxy S4 but Samsung has started to giving such a features in low priced phones such as Galaxy Core (Rs. 15,499), S4 mini and Galaxy Mega series phones.

Verdict and Our Experience

The Canvas 4 is priced alongside the Samsung Galaxy Grand at approx. Rs.17,999. The handset is really amazing and there is no another smartphone available in the market like Canvas 4. This is the big gift in small price. We found it superior, while checked the camera output. The depth of field is good but flooded with some colour noise. The handset is complete package with all essential multimedia features. We played some Android games also on the Canvas 4 and the phone performed perfectly with smoothness. Overall performance is very good and you can make decision to buy it. I am sure that It will never disappoint you.
