Railway Board Chairman ‘Vinay Mittal’ commented that launching of ticketing through SMS would be great step to make user friendly booking system although everyone knows tapping the button on mobile phones. Seeing the modern structure of Railway in other developed countries, Railway took this initial step. The SMS system is easier and better then e-ticket booking and now the people will not need to go to ticket counter.

According to Mittal, the service will be more improved gradually along with its payment options, value added services like updates and more. The board is working on safety for making secured and fast payment. I think everyone must try atleast once this SMS ticketing option.
