The French company Archos, a manufacturer of low cost smartphones and tablets increases the potential to attract attention. What’s interesting is that the company has introduced their new products without waiting for the start of the World Exhibition of mobile technology – MWC 2014.
Here were presented 3 smartphones – 40b Titanium, 50c Oxygen 64 and Xenon; tablet – 80 Helium 4G. “Old tradition” digit in the model name means diagonal. In general, at a budget price and comfort “French” design, the device is equipped with a decent hardware and certainly find a buyer in the European markets.
Archos 40b titanium
Archos 40b Titanium will appeal to music lovers, the main feature of the smartphone are stereo speakers located on the front side. The device also received 4-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels; chipset MediaTek MT6572 c dual-core processor, clocked at 1.3GHz, and the GPU Mali-400MP; 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory (supports memory card standard microSD).
The smartphone comes with 5-megapixel main (autofocus, LED-flash) and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera; battery capacity of 1500 mAh (150 hours of standby time and 12 / 9.5 (2G / 3G) hours of talk time); support two SIM-cards (SIM 1 – 2G (GSM / GPRS / EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, SIM 2 – 2G / 3G (WCDMA 900/2100)). Wireless technologies are presented modules Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A- GPS. The smartphone runs on Android Jelly Bean OS.
Archos-50c-oxygen
Archos 50c Oxygen is equipped with 5-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels; MediaTek MT6592 chipset with eight cores Cortex-A7, running with a clock speed of 1.7GHz; 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory (supports memory card standard microSD); 8-megapixel main (BSI-sensor, autofocus and LED-flash) and a 2-megapixel front-facing cameras; battery capacity of 2000 mAh. Support 2 SIM-cards and modules, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, HSPA + and GPS. Devaysa Dimensions – 145 x 69.8 x 7.64 mm, weight – 140 grams. This is the first smartphone gets eight-processor. The device also received Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Archos-80-Helium-4G
Archos 80 tablet Helium 4G, as well as the entire line of Helium 4G, received support for LTE networks. According to the manufacturer, Archos 80 – the cheapest 8 inch tablet c support LTE in the world. Suggested retail price is $ 380. Archos-64-xenon
Archos 64 Xenon Phablet comes with 6.4 inch touch screen display which places both volume and power button on the rear side like LG G2. The Xenon phablet has been packed with 1280 X 720p IPS LCD display and dual-SIM slots. The design almost seems like Galaxy Mega, but price will be 200 Euros (around $275).
In the performance, Archos 64 Xenon phablet was found really impressive due to its Quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor. The device features 8-megapixel main (autofocus, LED-flash) and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The processor will be supported by 1 GB of RAM, which is sufficient configuration for a multimedia device.
The device packs 2800mAh powerful battery, which delivers powerful backup in a single charge. On the other side, the Company has disappointed through the internal storage, It is offering 4 GB internal storage with the device which is not enough to store multimedia files and applications. Here is an external SD slot so it can be extended up to 32 GB using Micro SD card. We are expecting more from the company as It going to be launched by the end of April 2014.
As soon as the phone will be in your left hand, you will see the power button in the great position, right next to your index finger. The positioning of buttons makes feel awkward and hard to grip the Archos phone while applying pressure on the buttons.
